An interesting development assistance team meeting request was submitted via CompassKC yesterday for a new project at the northwest corner of 10th and Central (934 Central Street).
The application, submitted by Skidmore Owings and Merrill’s (SOM) Geoffrey Bird, was submitted on January 7th. Casey Waleko of Weitzman Real Estate Consulting of New York City is listed as the project agent. The property is currently owned by Kram Holdings LLC with an owners address in Westlake Village California. Per Weitzman’s website, they were involved in consulting for the Power and Light District along with large-scale projects in New York City including Hudson Yards and 7 World Trade Center.
The application states, “New construction 142,085 GSF Communications Service Establishment & Commercial Uses, 19 Stories, Type IA Construction“. There’s no more information available for the project at this time. The development assistance team request is to learn more about the city’s process for entitlement and zoning.
A project with floors of less than 7500sf at 19-stories, designed by a world renowned architecture firm on that corner is certainly an interesting development. With little to go off, there’s not much else to report at this time, but I’ll keep an eye out for a formal development application.
The main question I have is if this is going to be office or just a data center? And will it integrate the 2-story brick building that’s currently on site or will that be demolished?
Important to Note

This project is separate from Arnold Development Group’s developments at 9th and Central. That project was approved by the City of Kansas City and incudes a 27-story high-rise at the southwest corner of 9th and Central.
Update: January 9th 2026
The development assistance team application was updated to remove the address and project description. The development assistance team request also disappeared from the parcel viewer. The request is still active and hasn’t been withdrawn.
